1. it showed that they knew the architecture because they shot objects over the walls and protected the soldiers from arrows from above the walls.
2. today we have UAVs and long range missiles and high accuracy weapons. the war of tod and ay is coinducted by people way far out of danger.

this was the last stand of 300 Spartans against the Persian army. This battle was important because it gave time for Greece to organize and prepare better for battle with Persia. It is so famous because few stood against many for the interest of the state. in the film it shows that there were more people than just the 300 Spartans. the sea battle was not portrayed in the film.
